Time, Hands, Clock

-World Premiere: By the PHACE Ensemble in July, 2022

The clocks second-hand play a crucial role in my composing progress , which is why I chose quarter note equals 60.

This composition is about enlarging and narrowing time: I imaged a clock being adjusted by more or less, sometimes regularly speeding up but sometimes randomly.

It also has a mechanical feeling: I used lots of staccato and pizzicato on string instruments-to achieve a more percussive sounding.
