-Dreikanter is a work that integrates various popular and classical elements, such as rock, free jazz, and the cadenza from Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 4. This fusion is the defining characteristic of the piece, and through it, I hope listeners can feel the passion embedded within. By skillfully combining the essence of different musical styles, Dreikanter not only showcases the diversity and inclusiveness of music but also creates a unique auditory experience.
During the composition process, I aimed to find common ground among different musical layers. For instance, I sought to balance the driving rhythms of rock with the improvisational nature of free jazz and inject the vitality of contemporary music into the complex harmonies of Rachmaninoff. Every note and chord was carefully considered to ensure they retained their original charm even when fused together.
I hope this piece offers listeners a novel auditory experience—a musical journey that transcends time and space, and evokes a deep emotional resonance. Whether you appreciate the elegance of classical music or the innovation of modern genres, Dreikanter aims to provide a sense of connection and inspiration. My goal is for the audience to feel the intense passion as if they were experiencing a musical feast that spans across eras and cultures.
